MISSION
The Door of Hope Youth and Family Resource Center is built on a three-fold mission; to Reclaim, Rebuild, and Restore hope to the youth and families of our community.
VISION STATEMENT
Our vision is to positively transform the citizens of Norwalk and the surrounding cities by empowering the youth, families, and individuals by strengthening their ability to be self-sufficient and equipped to lead others.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR & FOUNDER
Mercedez Quintanilla has served as an administrator for the Norwalk Sheriff Station’s Personal Responsibility in Developing Ethics (PRIDE) Program for 12 years. While serving, Mercedez conducted home visits, which revealed countless cases of domestic violence, drug and alcohol abuse, and absentee parents.
This laid the foundation and targeted which kids needed the most help in developing their attitudes and improving their academic success using the P.R.I.D.E program to help in this development. The overall consensus was that a strong after school program and family resource center was needed and would provide sustained guidance to families over a prolonged period of time, which is absent from our community today.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
We are incredibly grateful for our nonprofit board of directors for their commitment to our organization. Their dedication has made it possible for us to complete meaningful projects and provide assistance to the communities we serve. This board is always willing to offer their insights and expertise when needed in order to ensure the success of the organization. Their selfless contributions and invaluable service are deeply appreciated.
